So I purchased this air fryer last year; I've owned it for about 9 months as of the time of this review.First off, the size of the air fryer is deceptive. You can bake something up to the size of a pie in it.I've used both the air fryer and oven settings and both have worked exceptionally well. The mesh trays have proved to be sturdy so far; while I would like it if there was a solid tray I think I understand why there isn't one, the mesh racks help ensure the proper movement of air so that things cook correctly in the air fryer. If you don't want to cook directly on the wire rack you can put a piece of parchment paper under whatever it is that you're cooking, that's how I roast vegetables.I haven't had any problems with the wire racks being flimsy; they seem durable enough to me.There's a pull out drip tray in the bottom that makes cleaning the air fryer easy; it and the wire racks clean up just fine in the dishwasher.Otherwise, just wipe the air fryer out with a sponge or a damp cloth to clean it up.There's also a wire mesh protector over the heating coil in the top of the fryer that you can pull out and run through the dishwasher if it gets dirty.I think it IS possible to be rough on this air fryer; if you slam the door around or overload the mesh trays with something exceptionally heavy you could damage both, but I don't find this machine exceptionally brittle.Overall I think that this is a great air fryer, and it's saved me a lot of having to mess around with the oven.
The Chefman Air Fryer Oven is straightforward to operate. The digital controls are intuitive, and the included recipe book offers helpful suggestions for getting started. Cleaning is relatively easy, thanks to the removable trays and drip pan, which are dishwasher safe. The oven’s interior is non-stick, further simplifying the cleanup process.Performance and Versatility:The oven performs well across its various functions. The air fryer is particularly effective, offering a healthier alternative to traditional frying. The ability to bake, roast, and dehydrate adds to the appliance's versatility, making it a valuable addition to any kitchen. The 60-minute digital timer ensures precise cooking times, and the automatic shut-off feature enhances safety by preventing overcooking.
So off the bat- this thing is much lighter and takes up less space than my Cuisinart toaster oven/air fryer. The Chefman has 3 racks which is a big factor in why I chose this. However. Racks are flimsy and made of a mesh metal like the vent cover on your range hood for your stove. They do not slide in easily. So you risk pushing too hard and spilling the food into the bottom of the air fryer. It is frustrating and time consuming to put the racks in but you have to pull them out to put the food on really.Cleaning them with anything that is saucy or drips will be a pain I can tell. Like I said they’re meshy so they will bend and wear out I’m sure. Then the door. You have to hold the top of the air fryer to push the door shut or open it. It is not spring loaded. And it has to like “click.” The door feels heavier than the whole air fryer itself. It almost feels like a toy. An Easy bake oven.It cooked the first food well. I love the touch/digital settings. It has presets so you can push one button and go which can be handy if you’re cooking the same foods often. So far that’s my review. I’ll add more as I go if I find things. I have only had it a day and used it a handful of times.EDITING after using it for a few weeks.Three racks does not mean faster cooking of more volume of food. Whatever is on the middle of bottom rack will not cook as fast or barely at all of the top rack has food. There is not an even distribution of heat. I understand more food means maybe longer cooking times but in an oven you can cook two racks of food and they are both cooking at the same rate - generally. If I’m cooking nuggies and fries—<br />This air fryer runs VERY loud. When it’s off you realize how loud it is .The touch buttons I said were nice but there’s no feedback or haptic so you know the button is responding until maybe you push too many times lolAgain these are just things I’m finding that I will consider with my next purchase.I would not recommend this air fryer unless you don’t have expectations or use it often.
